Rowan James I am completely enamored with this release. Haunting, engaging, challenging, and ecstatic. So far this has to be my favorite release of March 2016 and is in the running for my top five of the year for sure! If you like your tunes esoteric and widely varied in influence, don't miss this out! Favorite track: Sar HaGadol.

about

From Dust, We Rise is derived from Teḥiyyat Ha-Metim, taken from the ancient Judaic and Samaritan concept that one day, YHWH, the God of Israel, will bring life to the dead, a great reawakening. The apocalyptic prophet, Dani'el cries: "Awaken from our slumber, we (the multitude) rise as dust". Dani'el's prophecy expounds devastating judgment to the four great worldly empires of his era, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome, and envisions a 5th and final kingdom, which is from heaven, no longer ruled by earthly humans, and in complete harmony with all of creation.
